AFM SUBSCRIBERS ASK WITH THE GODFATHER OF THE AIR RAID OFFENSE – HAL MUMME

#1 – What formation do you run to set up the screen game? In other words, how do you set up a defense to maximize the screen game? What formation have you found keeps defenses guessing even after film review of your offense?

Doug Heslip, Assistant Coach, USA Football

For our screens, the best idea is trips or empty. This spreads out the defense and allows us to see leverage.

#2 – If you could only carry five Air Raid concepts with you, which ones would you choose?

Jacob Timmerman, Offensive Line Coach, Northside High School (GA)

1-Mesh

2-Verticals

3-Shallows

4-Corners

5-Stick

#3 – Do you have any Air Raid clinics scheduled or is there a good time when high school coaches can come watch your practices?

Russell Ponce, Defensive Coordinator, Assistant Coach, Santa Rosa Youth League (CA)

We are having all clinic time this year on campus to show off our beautiful new stadium.Best times are in March – contact us for details.

#4 – If you could only use one drill to help improve the techniques of your quarterback, what would it be?

Jeff Hancock, Head Coach, Vidalia High School (LA)

The Pat ‘n Go Drill is probably our best, most useful and flexible passing drill.
